DAVALOS DANCE

Celebrated for its amazing depth and mastery of expression, the Davalos Dance Company creates dances that uncover the coalescence and contradictions of identity, question heteronormativity and patriarchy, and challenge the current political climate of hatred, fear and violence toward the "other".  Diversity rather than uniformity informs the work.  The company consists of nonconforming bodies, races, and sexual identities.  Founded in 1994 by CatherineMarie Davalos, the company is based in San Francisco. They are currently in residence at Saint Mary's College of California.
